	When you think of a Cornish coastal village you think of quaint cottages set in the idyllic surroundings of a rural countryside with a back drop of rolling blue sea and white waves, maybe a couple of shops and a few other amenities. *Well St. Agnes has all this and so much more.*

Nestled in the lee of an impressive landmark which dominates the skyline of the beautiful and dramatic Atlantic coast St. Agnes is both a country village founded on tin mining and a popular coastal resort. A dual character which is reflected in her history with the picturesque ruins of engine houses and chimneys dominating the sky line and her magnificent, rugged and unspoiled coastal, inland and valley walks to explore and discover she is a walker and a painter's paradise.

All the main footpaths along the coast and over the St. Agnes Beacon have frequent seats from which you can rest and enjoy the splendid views and the view from the top of the Beacon is one not to be missed. For the naturalists and conservationists there is an abundance of plant, animal, bird and sea life here for you to discover and enjoy, changing with each season.

A visit to the St. Agnes museum will introduce you to her history of tin mining and fishing and of her myths and legends. St. Agnes is very proud of her legends especially her Giant Bolster, who plays a BIG part in village events. Visit the last working Tin Stream in Cornwall and watch rocks being turned into metal. See local craft-people at work in our own pottery and craft workshops or view paintings by Cornish artists in one of our art galleries.

Sample traditional Cornish pasties from our local bakery or enjoy good food from one of our many hotels, restaurants/cafes or public houses.

Swim, surf or learn how to surf, [surf/boogie boards, wet suits and other equipment can be purchased or hired], or just relax on one of our RNLI lifeguard patrolled [seasonal] beaches.

St Agnes has a growing residential population and with her many and varied shops and businesses has more than adequate, all year round, facilities for locals and tourists alike and being only 3 miles from the A30 is a good home base to reach all attractions throughout Cornwall.

St. Agnes is a friendly retreat. Its people have a strong sense of history and a great love of home. The main village events throughout the year welcome and encourage visitors not just to come along and watch but to participate, perhaps it is this pervading warmth that affects those who stay here and why so many return.
