A street fayre through the main village street with stalls holders in Victorian Dress.
Stalls, Tombola’s, Children’s Roundabout, Clog Dancers, Cornish Dancers ‘Otta Nye Moaz’, St. Agnes Silver
Band, a Steam Engine, Street Organ, Buskers, St. Agnes Town Crier and lots more.
A procession through the street, led by our own St. Agnes Silver Band with all in Victorian Dress following [in hot
pursuit]. Judging 12.30pm at the Old Vicarage. Fayre open after procession has gone through. The street is
closed to traffic from 10am -5pm.
SATURDAY 8th AUGUST ST. AGNES CARNIVAL
Floats and walkers gather at the Penwinnick Road carnival field for judging at 6pm.
Procession leaves at 6.30pm led by Giant Bolster and proceeds down Penwinnick
Road and Vicarage Road through Churchtown and down into Peterville and then up
Rosemundy and Rosemundy Hill and returns up Vicarage Road and Penwinnick
Park for the Prize giving.

Procession leaves Trelawney Road Car Park at 5 p.m.
Lights switched on by Giant Bolster in St. Agnes Village Square, Churchtown. Aprox, 5.15 p.m.
Barbecue, mulled wine, St. Agnes Silver Band plays seasonal music.

Carols around the Christmas tree on St. Agnes Village Square, Churchtown. 7pm [time to be confirmed]
Followed by:
A visit from you know who [ if all the children have been good that is!].

Main Village Events in St. Agnes for 2010
EASTER SATURDAY BLUE HILLS CLASSIC TRIAL
The annual Easter Saturday section of the Motor Cycling Club's Lands End Classic Trial,
for both cars and bikes. An all day event at the Blue Hills, Trevellas Coombe, from
10/11am. until 4pm.
[Grid reference on St. Agnes map B7 & B6 or the Wheal Kitty turning from the B3285 /
St. Agnes Perranporth Road.] This year the event celebrates its centenary - the first run
being held in 1908. Log onto www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk to learn more about this
club and their events.
This is a thrilling event but please take care and obey the officials who are there for
your safety. If driving please park in the official car parks to avoid blocking the narrow roads in the area.
BOLSTER 2010
PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
SATURDAY ? APRIL CLAY MODEL WORKSHOP
St. Agnes Youth Club. - 10am - 4pm
Come along and make model houses to be fired at St. Agnes Pottery and in the Beacon bonfire. Models will be
featured in the BOLSTER PAGEANT. You may retrieve your model either before or after the pageant if you wish
to keep it.
There will be a small charge to cover the cost of clay.
SATURDAY ? APRIL LANTERN WORKSHOP
St. Agnes Youth Club. - 10am - 4pm
We will be making lanterns using withies and paper to be carried in procession to the BOLSTER BONFIRE and
B.B.Q. on Saturday ? May. Lanterns can be decorated at home.
There will be a small charge to cover the cost of materials.
SATURDAY ? MAY LANTERN PROCESSION
Churchtown Square, St Agnes. to the top of the Beacon
Leaves Churchtown at 7.30pm.
Walk in procession from Churchtown Square with your lantern to the top of the Beacon for a bonfire (which fires
the clay models made two weeks ago) and a barbecue.
Bring a torch to get down from the Beacon safely in the dark!
SUNDAY ? MAY STREET THEATRE
Giant Bolster's drummers and characters from the Pageant tour the village, from pub
to pub, from 12 noon , looking for Giant Bolster to challenge him over his outrageous
behaviour.
SUNDAY ? MAY BOLSTER PAGEANT
On the cliffs at Chapel Porth Start at 4.30pm
Then witness the dastardly deeds of the ‘great’ man revealed in street theatre and dance procession through the
village at noon, performances outside all the pubs - just to whet your appetites in anticipation of the full tale to
come when you meet BOLSTER himself in splendid pageantry on the cliffs at Chapel Porth [grid ref. E2].

Fun for all the Family at Trevaunance Cove from 10am.
Competitions, rescue demonstrations by St. Agnes Blue Peter Inshore Lifeboat, Cliff rescue demonstrations by
St. Agnes Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team [joined we hope by the Air Sea Rescue helicopter from RNAS
Culdrose] operating conditions permitting.

ALWAYS THE THIRD WEEKEND in AUGUST
The Biggest and Best Steam Engine Rally in the West - over 200 steam engines expected. Tywarnhayle Farm,
Chiverton Roundabout [first left turn from the roundabout on the B3277 St. Agnes Road]
All types of Vintage Vehicles, Old Tyme Funfair, Fairground Organs, Working Demonstrations, Trade Stands,
Stationary Engines and Model Exhibition, Rural Crafts etc etc. Free car park.
An excellent day out for all the family. Admission at gate.
Gates open 9am - close at 8.30pm. Officially opened on Friday at 2pm.
